I want to build a fence. How can I find the bars on my property?
Property boundaries may only be established by a licensed Ontario Land Surveyor. Survey monuments are not always set directly on property corners, and may be displaced by construction activities or even by unscrupulous neighbours. This is where we can assist you. If you are trying to do it yourself and guessing at the location of your boundaries, you will be at risk of incorrectly identifying your property boundaries and building a fence on property that is not yours. Surveyors are required to carry liability insurance to protect the client if an error should occur. Paying an Ontario Land Surveyor to properly locate your property boundaries is a worthwhile expense compared to what it would cost you to move that brand new fence you just built, and possibly have your neighbors drag you into court.
Why do I need a property survey?
Surveys provide property owners with accurate information on the size, shape and boundaries of their property There are set markers on the corners and provide a written description on the position of construction improvements such as buildings and fences. A survey is often required by property owners who wish to make changes to their property such as adding a new structure or to determine their property line.
What is a Borehole Survey
A borehole survey is used to determine the course of, and the target point reached by, a borehole, using one of several different azimuth and dip recording apparatuses that is small enough that it can lowered into a borehole. This can also be referred to as a drillhole survey and directional survey.
